FESTIVE FINALE

2023.12.16 KARLSHUHE_DAY_16-40

2023 has been a momentous and celebration of a year for The Dead Daisies! First came the stunning collection of ten years work in the shape of the ‘Best Of’ CD and vinyl album (if you don’t have them yet you need to get your hands on these collections, they look and sound amazing), then came the return of John Corabi who although may have shared the Daisies microphone with both outstanding vocalists Glenn Hughes and Jon Stevens, is considered by many fans as their Daisies singer. Tonight would see the curtain come down on this special year with the final show and appearance at KNOCK OUT in Karlsruhe, Germany. ‘Resurrected’ has become the signature tune on this tour as it is very appropriate with the band having worked hard to carve a new era for the band in 2023.

As soon as Doug Aldrich launches into the riff, a huge roar from over four thousand in the room seals their approval for the band’s arrival on stage, and for the final time this year the band led by John Corabi with the biggest cheekiest grin takes his rightful place centre stage. David Lowy is enjoying Europe’s reaction to the band as he plays his signature big power chords on his flying V with a smile from ear to ear. The Rhythm section of Brian Tichy and the ‘new guy’ Michael Devin are as tight together as you could get adding to the whole monstrous sound of the band in any live situation. With a shorter festival set, the band closed the night with Beatles favourite ‘Helter Skelter’ to a rousing cheer from the packed out crowd. Now it’s time to fly back home for the holidays and plan the next chapter!
