In March last year, John talked with Jimmy Kay from Canada’s Metal Voice about the release of ‘Burn It Down’. They spoke in length about the tracks that had personal meaning for John. ‘Rise Up’ made a statement for both himself and Deen Castronovo with the challenges they both faced in their lives over the years. For John it was dealing with suddenly being thrust into the limelight with Motley Crue then having to deal with the aftermath and building up his profile once more as a great frontman when the Motley job came to a sudden end.
