In The Spotlight… Charley from Wales!

What’s up, guys! Today we’re back with another installment of our In The Spotlight series, where we introduce you to all the awesome people making up the Daisies community!

Gang, meet Charley – a super cool guy and true jack of all trades from near Cardiff! Just listen to what this engineering, scuba-diving rock lover has to say:

“Hi, I’m Charley, a music fan from a small village just to the west of Cardiff, Wales. I was introduced to rock music whilst in school when a friend loaned me the self titled Iron Maiden debut album, from the opening riff of the first track I was hooked and have never looked back. Live music is a big part of my life with most of my spare time is spent at gigs or my other hobby which is SCUBA diving and this is how I met my wonderful wife Morag. My job is being an Engineer for an electricity company which involves working on live and dead electrical systems up to 33000V.

I first saw The Dead Daisies at Planet Rock Radio’s Rockstock in December 2015, I’d heard some of their tracks on the radio but to see them live was something else, the pure energy that the band put out was off the scale. They engaged with the crowd and something I didn’t expect was Marco to join the crowd during the set, yes THE Marco Mendoza stood next to me playing during a song, beyond awesome. They finished their set to rapturous applause and then had the time to sign items and have photos with us all cemented them as one of the coolest band out on the circuit.

The music that they produce is an amazing mix of original and cover songs. The covers have that ‘Daisies twist’ and introduce the younger members of the audience to the music that has influenced so much since its release and the original material is pure genius.

I’ve been lucky enough to see The Dead Daisies 9 times to date, including our last summer holiday where we saw them 5 times in 7 days. Each time they just keep getting better and better and always have time for us, the fans. I’ve also caught Marco on his solo tour 3 times and it’s amazing.

Let’s hope we don’t have to wait too long for the next show.”
