LABOR DAY ROCK IN THE CITY OF ROSES

Portland, Oregon, known as the City of Roses, and there were a lot of them blooming in the audience tonight after enjoying a national holiday for Labor Day. The band had arrived early in the city and took the chance to soak up the atmosphere of a place which lies in the shadow of the dormant volcano Mount Hood. Refreshed and ready to Rock, this is one place where The Dead Daisies can really kick ass, with it being the home of Nike and Dr Martens headquarters! The show as with all the others on this tour was packed tight. Portland’s finest Rock fans were here in force, and they sang hard all night as big bombastic numbers like ‘Rise Up’, ‘Lock N’ Load’, ‘Midnight Moses’ and ‘Long Way to Go’ rattled the Alberta Rose Theatre.

Brian Tichy and Michael Devin are sliding into a real groove as their rhythm section gives a deep, big and bold foundation for Doug Aldrich and David Lowy to throw thunderous chords and screaming solos over the top, while John Corabi holds the audience in his hand, ushering them through a wild ride of loud Rocking’ music. When ’Slide It In’ had slithered off the stage like a venomous viper, the band followed. After a day off, The Dead Daisies head to Roseville for the 4th from last show.
