GLASGOW SMILES BETTER

2024.09.11-GLASGOW-40

After coming off the first sold out show of the tour in Holmfirth, it was time to head north to the only Scottish date of the tour at the SWG3 in Glasgow.

Known for being loud and friendly, the Glaswegians turned up in force to welcome The Dead Daisies back for the first time since 2018! Early on, way before doors, a large crowd gathered eager to make their way down to the front as soon as security opened the gates.

After opening acts The Bites and The Treatment had warmed up the crowd, the large room fell dark and silent before the intro music kicked in, then as if by magic the music of ‘Light ‘Em Up’ and flashing of bright lights almost like a thunder and lightning storm, signalled the beginning of the show.

Storming the stage and giving a fully animated performance, the band looked like they were still in their twenties. ‘Rise Up’, ‘Dead and Gone’, ‘Make Some Noise’ were cranked out before Tommy Clufetos bashed the drums within an inch of their lives during his drum solo. For dedicated Daisies fans, this was a set full of the biggest songs in the band’s catalogue, and for Daisies virgins, there were enough huge songs that will make them go back and discover past albums. But for now, copies of ‘Light ‘Em Up’ are flying off the merch desk!

With a nod to a future blues album, the track ‘I’m Ready’ was aired tonight, and you could see that the crowd were loving it!

Day off next before the guys head to Rock City in Nottingham!
