With the The Dead Daisies second album ‘Revolución’ embedded well into the hearts and minds of classic rock fans around the globe, the band have completed perhaps their most thrilling adventure to date; a high energy, sold out arena tour of Australian and New Zealand with KISS!
For John Corabi, not only was it a first in touring Australia with The Dead Daisies but also a first touring some of its cities with any of his projects. “It’s been an absolute blast! I finally got to visit Perth, Newcastle and Auckland. I’ve never been to these cities before so that was a treat!”, said John.
Pre-tour, the band appeared on The Morning Show in Sydney where they performed a rendition of ‘Empty Heart’ the duet with Aussie superstar Jimmy Barnes featuring Marco Mendoza taking over vocal duties for Jimmy’s part.

The tour kicked off in Perth, a city the Daisies have played once before, but this time they returned with one of the giants in the world of rock…KISS! Beyond just bringing classic rock to Perth, the Daisies found themselves with the added task of bringing some spirit to a mourning city after the local’s West Coast Eagles AFL team suffered a brutal Grand Final loss. Long time Philadelphia Eagles fan and now big West Coast Eagles fan John Corabi ROCKED the Perth Arena lifting the moral of the locals with his charismatic, energy fuelled performance!
Marco Mendoza described his experience of touring with KISS as “Simply put, their shows sound and look better than ever. They know how to take care of their fans, always bringing something new to every show, and I personally want to thank them again and again for inviting us along!”
Playing to their biggest audiences to date in Australia and New Zealand, The Dead Daisies lit up the arena stages of Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Newcastle, Brisbane and finally Auckland. With a set jam-packed with killer rock tunes off their ‘Revolución’ album and adding timeless classics like Deep Purples ‘Hush’ and the Beatles ‘Helter Skelter’, the crowds could not get enough of The Dead Daisies.
When asked about their favourite memories of the Australian/New Zealand tour, John Corabi reflected that “Every minute has been awesome! How can it not be? We’re touring with KISS on their 40th Anniversary Tour Down Under!” Marco also commented that “One of the best things about the tour was getting to meet the fans after every show, which is always very rewarding.”
On Oct 11, Frasier Harley-Davidson Motorcycles hosted the “secret location event” for The Dead Daisies, transforming their show room into a full fledged rock n roll venue. Fans who won the opportunity to attend the event were given the location only days before show time, and they arrived, mostly all on their Harley-Davidson’s ready to rock with band in this super intimate, money can’t buy experience. It was extremely special for both fans and the band, with John Corabi reporting that he “had a BLAST! It was a close intimate show with our biggest supporters. But, being a HUGE fan of Harley-Davidson motorcycles I got to hang and check out a lot of the bikes. The audience was AMAZING, and it was all for a great cause, plus I think I found the bike I want… Harley Street Bob!”
“Partnering the Dead Daisies on the Secret Location Show was a new and exciting project for Fraser Motorcycles. There was a buzz around the dealership for months prior to the event. The day went off without a hitch the guest’s/staff had a great day and of course The Dead Daisies were fantastic! Let’s not forget we have raised some much needed money for the NSW Cancer Council as well.

The legion of Dead Daisies fans continues to grow from concert to concert and tour to tour. With a group of talented individuals led by singer John Corabi which include Marco Mendoza, Dizzy Reed, David Lowy and Brian Tichy (with a special thanks to guitarist Dave Leslie jumping in at short notice to fill in for the injured Richard Fortus), how could the fans not embrace this band?
Next up, The Daisies set sail on KISS Kruise V rocking with KISS fans from Miami to Jamaica before an extensive trek through Europe smashing Arena’s with Whitesnake and then closing out the year with their own headline tour in the UK/France in December. In the middle of it all, on Dec 4th, The Daisies will perform at the prestigious Planet Rockstock Festival…. an event not to be missed! A final word on that forthcoming tour came from Mr Corabi. “You can expect a high energy, good old fashioned Rock and Roll concert! It’ll be LOUD, FUN, and a SWEATY GOOD TIME will be had by all!”
