Playing in a Winterstorm

Troon, on the west coast of Scotland seems an unlikely place for a rock festival, but we arrived in the cold to the sound of seagulls flying about and some loud guitars in the distance at ‘Winterstorm’.

Once we walked into the old red building it was like going into a different dimension as we entered a busy rock community with live stages, bars, merchandise and loads of people walking around.

After catching up with some old buddies like Chris Glen from the Michael Schenker Group, Geoff Tate and some of the other bands playing tonight like the Wayward Sons we made our way to the stage.

We kicked in hard with ‘Midnight Moses’, a favorite with the Scottish crowd, then kept it cranked up with ‘Leave Me Alone’, ‘Resurrected’, ‘Rise Up’ before finishing a really killer set with ‘Mexico’, ‘Long Way to Go’ and ‘Helter Skelter’. The sold out venue was jumping and it was a great way to finish this first leg of the tour. Now its time to go to Europe!!
