Originally opened in 1968 as the Lake Geneva Playboy Club Hotel, the lush property served as a luxury escape for Midwest travellers. The first Playboy Club Hotel to open in the U.S., the resort brought a touch of glamour to the small lakeside community. At the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Lake Geneva government officials and local dignitaries joined Hugh Hefner in celebrating the resort’s grand opening.
We had the luxury of staying at this amazing hotel and it was quite an experience. For one, David Lowy got to experience the finest, by staying in Hugh Hefner’s old room. That entitles anyone to bragging rights in our books. The building was beautiful and right next to an amazing lake which had light shows coming out of the water jets at night. To go from playing with some of rock and rolls legends, to staying in buildings with such historic value, needless to say, this tour has been one to remember and I don’t think any of us will be forgetting it any time soon.
