Arriving in Hamburg for their third show in a row after Friday night in the Netherlands and Saturday night in Belgium, the band were fired up and ready to Rock the German city on the start of another run of German shows.
The venue tonight is the Gruenspan, a former movie theatre situated next to the Reeperbahn and was opened back in 1968. Many well known bands have passed through and played on its stage on their way to bigger things and tonight it is the turn of The Dead Daisies.
The title track from the new album ‘Light ‘Em Up’ was the first sonic explosion to burst out of the speakers as David, Michael, Tommy and Reb hit the stage followed by the ultimate showman John Corabi arriving to take control of the proceedings.
With songs like ‘Dead and Gone’, ‘Unspoken’ and new song ‘I’m Gonna Ride’ in a collection of blistering tracks that the band have penned and played over the past decade, there was a song for everyone in the audience.
For the musicians in the crowd, Tommy’s drum solo was like a storm front coming in from the sea and thundering down on the packed audience.
With a closing set of ‘Long Way To Go’ and the Beatles ‘Helter Skelter’, the band left the stage with a very happy German crowd wanting to hear more! Tomorrow is a day off before it all starts again in Cologne!
